The motion mask facility allows you to create areas which will be ignored by the motion detection engine built into Patrol.

This will help to reduce false alarms caused by nuisance objects such as trees moving, lights from motor cars etc.

To setup the Motion Mask option click the button labelled 'Motion Mask Setup'

(The Video Server engine must be running for this button to work!)

In the new dialogue box you will see a picture from the camera.

Blank out areas of the picture using your mouse. Click and drag to create an area, release mouse

button to mask the area. You can create as many areas as you need.

When you have finished click the 'Save Mask' button above the picture!

To adjust the alarm threshold click the button labelled 'Motion Sensitivity Mask' to display the slider.

Alternatively when motion detection is turned on, click the 'motion level gauge' found under the buttons on the main video window.

Slide the control up to make it more sensitive or down for less sensitivity.
